Christmas cheer spreads across Bolton

Christmas cheer spread across Bolton as hampers were delivered to those in need whose Christmas had been put on hold, for whatever reason.  The hampers were filled with everything you might need for a traditional Christmas dinner – from the tray to cook the chicken, fresh fruit and vegetables, Shloer, chocolate mints, and Christmas crackers!  2016 did not disappoint with December seeing over 35 churches, schools, businesses and individuals pledging an amount of food and then collecting that amount in many different ways.  There were also at least 26 groups that donated money to help towards the cost of the £50 hampers. With 1300 bottles of Shloer, 5200 packets of crisps and about 4500 selection boxes the hamper packing was a huge job – but with over 200 volunteers all 1221 hampers and fresh bags were packed in record time.

The whole project from start to finish was an incredible, fun filled experience with old friendships from previous years being rekindled and new ones being formed! More than 4000 people were blessed with hampers in the Christmas of 2016 and that was down to hundreds of people working together to make such an amazing achievement possible.  Thank you to all who were a part of Christmas Dinner on Jesus 2016!
